How can we increase the commitment between the employee and the company?

Mutual commitment between workers and company is essential to achieve success. Committed workers are more motivated and experience the company's successes as their own.

We want to talk in this post about the importance of a mutual commitment between the worker and the company and vice versa.

We begin by saying that an employee's commitment to his company is a bond based on his degree of emotional and intellectual involvement with the organization. There is no doubt that committed workers are motivated to pursue the common good for their company and identify with its challenges and objectives.

In turn, this commitment contributes positively to the efficiency, productivity, satisfaction and success of the organization and is marked by the difference between having to do what must be done and wanting to do what must be done.

But… What requirements are necessary for there to be a commitment between the employee and the company?

The ones we consider most important are satisfaction , involvement and loyalty . Because a committed employee is satisfied with his work role and proud to be part of his company, which really is an important part of his life.

The second requirement is involvement, because we understand that a worker lives from their work aligned with the values, philosophy and objectives of the company and feels emotionally linked to it.

And the third and last requirement is loyalty. We have no doubt that the loyal employee is strongly linked to his company and is proud to belong to it. This makes him someone loyal to the organization and willing to stay in it.

What is the impact of our employees being committed?

When there is a real commitment of the workers towards the company and its products, services and brand, it has been shown that the more committed the employees are to the organization, the greater the customer satisfaction, business productivity and therefore business profits.

How can this commitment be increased from the company's management?

We quote below several points that we consider essential to achieve this.

· Promoting a good working environment and creating a positive atmosphere of trust and enthusiasm.

· Offering business training and continuous learning resources.

· Effectively managing the employee remuneration policy.

· Valuing the talent  and skills of workers. Recognition is one of the tools that generate greater satisfaction in an employee.

·  Promoting professional development  and internal promotion in the company.

· Leading with intelligence, promoting motivation and the feeling of pride among employees for belonging to the company.

· All these aspects will facilitate a greater commitment and involvement of the workers with the mission, objectives and values of the company and will contribute positively to the increase in customers and profits.

As we mentioned at the beginning of this post, the commitment between company and employee must be reciprocal.

So… How should the company respond to this commitment?

Management teams must learn to identify how this motivation can be increased on the part of their employees . The company must take care of you and value you as an important asset of the organization. It is about giving the employee a voice in decision-making, assigning more responsibility when carrying out certain projects, etc. At the same time, it is also important to empathize with their problems and help reconcile personal and work life. It is essential to be flexible, just as employees do when adjusting their schedules on many occasions to the demands of companies during work peaks.

Finally, it must be taken into account that the commitment must be renewed periodically. It is important that the employee and those in charge sit down and each talks about the assessment they make of the other. With a constructive mentality, with issues that can be improved. With a short-term plan and concrete things to implement to be more effective. This point is basic, because if these issues are not discussed, the worker no  longer has such a strong commitment  to the company, and the company begins to question the employee's ability, his routines and mechanics, etc. Do you have any other proposal?
